- Welcome to the sharewareversion of Internet-Angel 2.2!
- January 1997
- (requires WINSOCK.DLL and VBRUN300.DLL!)
-
- The Internet-Angel is an automated tool to download and save Internet
- documents with ancored pages and their inline-images. It comes with a
- timer that makes it possible to start and end the program automatically
- (at the moment only HTTP is supported).
-
- The documents are viewed offline, e.g. with a browser (Netscape).
-
- You can also download several web-sites one after another when their url's
- are written in a textfile (INETA.INP).
-
- The register-fee amounts to US$ 13 (20 DM, 20000 Lit). The only restriction
- of the shareware-version is the download-maximum of 1MB per session.

-
-
- 1. The program-surface
-
- Type or paste ("Paste"-button) into the first line (Source:) any URL you
- want to download (e.g. www.t-online.de). By clicking the second line
- (Target:) INETA will choose a filename to save the internet-file. You
- can also choose a filename, if need be by clicking the "?"-button.
- Click on the "Start"-button. INETA downloads and saves the referring
- sourcefile from the web.
-
- You have the oppurtunity to considerably enlarge the functions of INETA by
- marking the various small boxes beside the words "Links", "List", "Timeout:"
- and "Start after". Most of the functions will be briefly explained in the
- "Message:"-window.
-
- Links:
- If the box is marked, the hyperlinks of the document (i.e. the words which
- are shown by the browser in another colour and underlined) will be downloaded.
- INETA looks up for hyperlinks in these documents to download them and so on
- ("roboting"). The inline-images (e.g. gif's or jpeg's) of the web-documents
- will also be downloaded. The depth of the hyperlinks, that are the sub-pages
- of a internet-document, generally has no limits. That makes the well known
- "internet-surfing" possible because every links leads to other links. The
- depth of the INETA-search may be limitated (->Preferences).
-
- List:
- Marking this box the first entry of the textfile "INETA.INP" will be
- automatically taken as source-URL. The second entry in "INETA.INP" serves as
- target-filename. If this line in "INETA.INP" is empty, INETA chooses a
- filename. The third line in "INETA.INP" will be taken for the next URL and
- so on.
-
- Timeout:
- If that box is marked, INETA automatically ends after the given time
- (1 to 720 minutes).
-
- Start after:
- You have the opportunity to fix a time-delay for the first net-request
- (0,5 to 168 hours) to make use of the time the net is not so busy.
-
- Overwriting of files, double names:
- INETA does not overwrite exsisting files. In spite of this, INETA saves
- the file under a new name. Exsists a file "index.htm" for example, the next
- file named "index.htm" which comes not from the same server is saved as
- "index_1.htm". After a certain time you should delete the internet-files,
- otherwise the stock of files becomes bigger and bigger. Be carefully with
- the file "INETA.GOT". It contains the URLs and filenames of sucessfully
- downloaded internet-documents. INETA checks in "INETA.GOT" if a file exists
- and then does not reload it. Do not delete individual files without deleting
- or modifying "INETA.GOT".
-
-
- 2. Preferences
-
- Click on the exclamation mark to change the options.
-
- directory=
- default: no entry (the program-directory of INETA)
- The directory to save the internet-documents und -images.
-
- exclude=
- default: no entry (no exclusion)
- The dos-extension of files which are not be downloaded while the
- roboting (e.g. .exe .mpg .avi). Several entries must be seperated by
- blanks.
-
- nosite=
- default: "" (no exclusion)
- Sites which are often included in Internet-documents like Netscape,
- Yahoo etc. may be excluded from the robot- and list-controlled download.
- It is not necessary to write the entire domain-name here, parts of the url
- (e.g. ".gif") are also possible. The entry "nosite=netscape" for example
- prevents all connects with "www.netscape.com", "help.netscape.com" and so on.
- Several entries must be seperated by blanks.
-
- onlysite=
- default: "" (all sites)
- Sites which should be exclusivly visited while robot- and list-controlled
- download (resp. parts of the url ->nosite). Any entry here makes the line
- "nosite=..." ineffective. The entry "onlysite=.it www.microsft" causes
- connects only with computers with ".it" and with computers with
- "www.microsoft" in their domain-names. All other domain-names are skipped.
- Several entries must be seperated by blanks.
-
- picture=
- possible: Windows-bitmaps
- Default: "" (no picture)
- Background-picture for the program-surface.
-
- depth=
- possible: 0 bis 99 (0 = not limit)
- default: 50
- The maximum of the depth for the INETA-hyperlink-search.
-
- maxfiles=
- possible: 0 to 32767 (0 = not limit)
- default: 1000
- The number of files which will be requested by the robot-controlled
- download of one depth. The limitation is convenient because INETA tries
- to download to much hyperlinks of one depth and cannot go on to the next
- depth.
-
- timeout=
- possible: 0 to 60 (0 = not timeout)
- default: 2
- Limitates the time in minutes INETA waits for connect or data-receiving.
- When there is no action for this time, INETA skips that download.
-
- maxkbytes=
- possible: 0 to 2097152 (0 = not limit)
- default: 40000
- The number of kBytes which will be downloaded in one session from the net.
- For the shareware-version this value is limited.
-
- images=
- default: marked
- If this box is not marked, inline-images will be excluded from download.
-
- invisible=
- default: not marked
- Specifies wether the program-surface is visible or invisible after
- the start.
-
- logwrite=
- default: marked
- A textfile "INETA.LOG" which contains all messages will be created.
-
- saveoriginal=
- default: not marked
- For making offline-reading possible, HTML-documents will be modified by
- INETA. If the box is marked, the original HTML-documents will be kept
- as files with the extension "ORG". These files contain the global
- hyperlinks so you can download missing documents later.
- Pay attention to the circumstance that the entry "maxkbytes=" (see above)
- disregards the quantity of bytes caused of ORG-files. Therefore the needed
- place on your harddisk can be much bigger (two-times) as the value fixed
- in "maxkbytes=".
-
-
- 3. Registration
-
- INETA can be freely distributed in its original, unmodified form with all
- accompanying files left intact. The distribution charges must not exceed the
